Found in Rio de Janiero and Parana' states of Brazil as a small sized, cool to cold growing, humus loving terrestrial or rarely epiphyte with a rosette of 3 to 5, basal, dark green, lanceolate, acute, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on a terminal, erect, 1.2 to 3.2" [3 to 8 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, setiform-acuminate, glabrous, pale, membraneous, slightly longer than the ovary floral bracts
