Found in Rio de Janiero state of Brazil as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial with hairy roots giving rise to a basal rosette of 5 or so, ovate-lanceolate, obtuse to acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later fall and winter on a terminal, erect, many flowered inflorescence with ovoid-oblong, acute, slightly shorter than the ovary floral bracts
