Found in Ecuador in cloud forests as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with several, elliptic to elliptic-lanceoalte, acuminate, basally cuneate into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring and summer on an erect, glabrous, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute floral bracts..
