Found in Putumayo department of Colombia at elevations around 2350 meters as a large sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 4, basal, ovate, shortly acuminate, with a hyaline-white, crisped-dentate margin, elongate 9.2" [to 23 cm] long, truncate then petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, peduncle 22" [55 cm] long, provided with 8 sheathing bracts, rachis to 4.4" [11 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with oblong-rhombic to oblong-elliptic, brownish, longer below, shorter above, acuminate, much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers with the tepals transluscent white and the lip green.
This species resembles Prescottia lojana but differs in the much longer leaf petiolatre to 9.2" [23 cm] versus 4.8" [12 cm] in P lojana, the truncate leaf base veruss rounded, the transluscecnt white tepals versus deep green, the linear-oblanceolate petals verus oblong, the lip lacking a prominent midvein and having longer [half of the lamina length versus a third of the lamina length and the twisted and upcurled auricles versus pendent and untwisted."
