Found in Rio Grande Do Sul state Brazil in wet forests as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with clustered, laterally compressed, long-ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 2 to 3, leafbearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect-patent, ligulate to lanceolate, acute and acuminate leaves that blooms on a thin, ascending to horizontal, glabrous, to 1.2" [3 cm] long, 1 to rarely 2 flowered inflorescence that is much shorter than the leaves ad has 3 to 4, apressed, lanceolate-acuminate bracts and elliptic-oval, acumiante, cymbidiforme, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
