Found in Bahia state, Brazil in montane rainforests at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovate, compressed pseudobubls enveloped in youth by 2 to 3 deciduous sheaths and carrying 2, apical, membraneous, oblanceolate, acuimninate leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, 1.8 to 3" [4.5 to 7.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
