Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil on rocky outcrops at elevations around 910 meters as a miniature [without inflorescence] sized, warm growing, subcaespitose lithophyte with a rigid, short rhizome giving rise to fusiform, initially smooth becoming somewhat rugose pseudobulbs enveloped by deciduous sheaths and carrying 2 to 6, alternate, subcoriaceous, linear, somewhat conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a terminal, terete, thin, reddish brown, with imbricating bracts, flexible, 7.8" [18 cm] long, racemose, successively 2 to 3, 2 to 5 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute, inconspicuous floral bracts and carrying small, slightly inclined flowers.
