Found in Java at elevations near 300 meters as a large sized, hot growing, mycoheterotrophic epiphyte with a creeping stem without tubers and leaves [was originally reported to have sessile, oblong leaves but not seen by Comber] that blooms in the late spring on a both axillary and terminal, 12 to 16" [30 to 40 cm] long, branched, green, glabrous, successively many flowered inflorescence carrying wide open flowers
