Psilochilus antioquiensis Kolan. 2013 Drawing by © Kolanowska, Naczk & Jaskula Herbarium-based studies on taxonomy, biogeography and ecology of Psilochilus (Orchidaceae)
LATER
Common Name The Antioquia Psilochilus [A department of Colombia]
Flower Size
Found in Antioquia Colombia near Jardin in montane cloud forests at elevations around 2000 to 2400 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a few, ovate, acute, sessile base leaves that blooms in the later spring on a terminal, 6" [15 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence carrying greenish flowers with violet lip margins.
"Vegetative characters suggest the relation of this species with P. macrophyllus from which it differs by the short lip lateral lobes, reaching only the basal part of the middle lobe and which apices are distant from the base of the middle lobe. The floral characters make P. antioquiensis similar to P. physurifolius from which it differs by the sessile leaves and a short lip claw."
