Common Name Dusen's Psilochilus [Swedish Civil engineer and Orchid Collector later 1800's early 1900's]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Venezuela and Brazil at elevations around 850 to 1100 meters as a small to medium sized warm growing terrestrial with a more or less erect, branching, terete, smooth, dark puce stem carrying to 10, deeply indented along nerve lines, broadly elliptic, acute, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, 1" [2.5 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence.

"From the similar P. hatschbachi, this species is distinguishable based on oblique, but not falcate tepals and middle lobe form which is broadly ovate to suborbicular (elliptic in P. hatschbachi)."
