Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil at elevations around 1100 to 1400 meters as a medium to large sized, cool growing caespitose, rupicolous orchid that is a natural hybrid between P brejetubensis and P freyii and has obovate, slightly flattened, 5 noded pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, apical, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, peduncle 14 to 16" [35 to 40 cm] long, rachis to 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, few paniculate, 22" [to 55 cm] long overall, 15 flowered inflorescence initially enveloped by 6 to 10 clasping bracts and with triangular floral bracts.
