Common Name The Varnished Psychilis
Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]
Found in southwestern Dominican Republic at elevations around 1100 meters as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with crowded, ovate-oblong, transversly 2 to 4 ringed, distally attenuate pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, ligulate to linear-lanceolate, acute, coriaceous, rigid leaf with entire or serrated margins that blooms in the winter and early spring on a terminal, slender, 14" [35 cm] long, few branched, densely few flowered with ovate acute bracts and carrying, showy, fragrant, waxy, shiny flowers
