Found in New South Wales Australia at elevations of 900 to 1200 meters in montane areas on ridges, slopes, stream banks and among rocks and tussocks in rich loams as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of dark green, crinkled leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, 6 to 18" [15 to 45 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
