Common Name The Enigmatic Pterostylis - In Australia The Enigmatic Greenhood

Flower Size 1.6 to 1.8" [4 to 4.5 cm]

Found in Victoria in moist flats along floodplains of small streams in tall open forests at elevations around 900 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with a basal, scattered rosette of dark green, fleshy, flat leaves that blooms in the Australian spring with an erect, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

Said to be a natural hybrid between P falcata and P cucullata
