Found in the northern island of New Zealand in Kauri forests as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with 3 to 6, spreading, sometimes horizontal, grassy leaves that blooms in the late fall and winter on an erect, often red, 1 to occasionally 2 flowered inflorecence.
