Found in New South Wales Australia in grassy areas near streams in montane areas at elevations of 700 to 1000 meters as a cold growing terrestrial with petiolate basal leaves and scattered, dark green, fleshy, flat to wavy, non-petiolate base leaves above that blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect, .4 to 8" [1 to 20 cm] long, rough to the touch, single flowered inflorescence
