Found in New South Wales and Victoria, Australia, ranging from coastal to montane areas where it often grows among rocks on grassy and ferny slopes in montane open forests, with similar sites in sub-alpine woodlands at elevations of sea level to 200 meters, as a small to medium sized, sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with a basal rosette of flat leaves that blooms in the spring and summer on an erect, 6 to 12" [15 to 30 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
