Found in New South Wales, Victoria, South Ausrtalia and Tasmania at elevations of 300 to 800 meters among rocks and shrubs in forests as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of 7 to 20 leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, 8 to 14" [20 to 35 cm] long, 1 to 7 flowered inflorescence with forward projecting flowers
