Found in New Zealand in Kauri forests in deep shade as a small sized, cool growing terrestrial with a slender stem carrying on a non-flowering plant, basal, oval leaves held in a basal rosette and in a flowering plant, 4 to 5 lanceolate leaves held in a group towards the apex that blooms in the fall through spring on an erect, single flowered inflorescence
