Found in east central New South Wales Australia in drier forests at elevations of 450 to 550 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of 4 to 9 leaves that blooms in the earlier spring on an erect, 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, 2 to 7 flowered inflorescence with the flowers projected forward to obliquely erect.
