Found in New South Wales Australia in tussocks, bracken and shrubs in tall moist to wet forests at elevations of 900 to 1150 meters as a small to large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a rosaette stalk carrying 3 to 6 leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on an erect, 8 to 36" [20 to 90 cm] long, 3 to 13 flowered inflorescence carrying 5 to 8 stem leaves
