Found in central New South Wales Australia in sparsely treed rocky hills, stony slopes and in malee communities forests at elevations of 200 to 450 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a rosette of 6 to 15 leaves that blooms in the winter and spring on an erect, 8 to 16" [20 to 40 cm] long, 2 to 10 flowered inflorescence with the flowers projected forward to semi-erect.
