Found in New South Wales and Victoria Australia among grass, shrubs and rocks in tall moist forests at elevations of 700 to 1500 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a basal rosette of large, flat, dark green leaves that blooms in the summer and early fall on an erect, 3.2 to 9" [8 to 22.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
