Common Name The Red Shell Pterostylis - In Australia The Red Shell Orchid

Flower Size 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 cm]

Found in South Australia in scrub and malee stands on stabilized dunes at elevations sealevel to 200 meters as a mini miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a loose rosette of dull green, flat leaves when not blooming and blooms in the fall on an erect, 2.4 to 6" [6 to 15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
