Found in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria Australia at elevations of 50 to 1200 meters in montane forests among granite boulders as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a globose tuber giving rise to an erect stem carrying 4, small, acuminate, acute, basally clasping leaves at every 3" [7.5 cm] on the stem that blooms in the late summer and fall on an erect, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
