Found in New South Wales Australia in moist to wet tall forests at elevations of 400 to 1100 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with 4 to 7 leaves in a rosette stem and bloom in the mid winter and spring on an erect, 6 to 16" [15 to 40 cm] long, 1 to 7 flowered inflorescence carrying 4 to 7 stem leaves with light brown tips
