Found in New South Wales Australia at elevations up to 400 meters in coastal heath, scrubby woodlands and moist sheltered areas as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid tubers giving rise to an erect stem enveloped completely when blooming by several, narrowly linear, acute, basally clasping leaves and when out of bloom by a loose, off the ground rosette of leaves that blooms in the fall through spring on an erect, to 12" [to 30 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence
