Found in New Zealand in lowland to montane wetlands, in bogs and along streams as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a few basal, in a loose rosette, elliptic, gradually anrrowing below into the petiolate base leaves and upper leaves that are keeled, channeled and do not have a stalk that blooms in the later spring and summer on an erect, single flowered inflorescence
