Common Name The Many Flowered Pterichis
Flower Size .32" [8mm]
Found in northwestern Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and nortwestern Argentina? in montane cloud forests at elevations of 2800 to 3500 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with generally a single, basal, oblong-lanceolate, glabrous, acute, abruptly narrowing below intothe canaliculate petiolate base leaf thyat blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on a terminal, erect, 10.8 to 17.2" [27 to 43 cm] long, glabrous below becoming glabrous-pilose above, sub lax to somewhat dense, rachis 2.4 to 4.2" [6 to 10.5 cm] long, 8 to 20 flowered inflorescence with distant bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers.
