Found in Northern Queensland Australia at elevations of 700 to 1250 meters among grasses and ferns in wet forests and sheltered areas of open woodlands often besides rivers and streams as a miniature sized, cool growing terrestrial and keeps it's basal rosette of dark green, crinkled leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, 8 to 14" [10 to 35 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
