Found in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia in drier forests on hills amd ranges and in mallee shrublands at elevations of 5 to 600 meters as a small sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid occuring in poor soils growing in sheltered situations with a rosette of dark green, flat to crinkled leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, 2 to 8" [5 to 20 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
