Found in Tanzania in riverine and montane forests at elevations of 400 to 1400 meters as a small to just medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with an erect stem enveloped by persistent leaf sheaths and carrying coriaceous, conduplicate,spreadin to arching, linear-ligulate, unequally bilobed apically, rounded lobed leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, 7.2 to 10.8" [18 to 27 cm] long, 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence
