Common Name or Meaning The Elongate Renanthera - in Malaysia - Poko Api Sesuda

Found in Thailand, Borneo, Java, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sumatra in swamp forest and mixed hill forests, at elevations of sealevel to 1000 meters as a giant sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte, or terrestrial becoming epiphyte with an elongate stem carrying many coriaceous, oblong, rounded and slightly bilobed apically, articulated to the persistent leaf sheaths that blooms in the summer on an axillary, suberect to erect, many branched, subdesely many flowered, stout, terete, 12" [30 cm] long, purple inflorescence with minute, triangular floral bracts.
