Common Name Storie's Renanthera [English Orchid Collector 1800's SE Asia]

Flower Size 2 1/4" [6 cm]

Found only in the Philippines at elevations up to 1000 meters as a medium to giant sized, hot to warm growing, monopodial terrestro-epiphyte at the base of trees usually occuring in bright light to full sun with a stout stem carrying, many, broad, distichous, oblong, coriaceous, retuse and bilobed apically leaves that blooms on a semi-pendulous, horizontal to arching, 2 to 3 branched, many [100] flowered, woody inflorescence with large, showy, red flowers occuring in the summer.
