Found in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia? and Ecuador in montane cloud forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 reddish sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coricaeous, dorsally carinate, tridenticulate, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late fall and early winter on a .6" [1.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence arising from the base of the ramicaul and enveloped by a few scarious bracts.
"One of the smallest species vegetatively with some of the smallest flowers in the genus. The sepals are transluscent light green with the dorsal sepal concave. The laterals are oblong and lightly adherent their entire length. Th epetals are obtuse and membraneous. The lip is ovate and obtuse with erect, rounded basal lobes." Luer 1991
