Found in Angola, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Eastern Cape and Kwa Zulu-Natal South Africa, Uganda, Zaire, Zambia and Zimbabwe in submontane riverine forests and woodlands at elevations of 600 to 1800 meters as a small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with long, erect or trailing stems with several to many distichous, linear to oblanceolate, unequally and rouindly bilobed apically, leathery and slightly "v" shaped leaves and blooms in the fall and winter on an axillary, 1 to 4" [3 to 9 cm] long, several to amany flowered inflorescence with lilac scented flowers.
