Found in Java and the Philippines in shady locations at elevations of 1450 to 2100 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with 3 to 4, close set, near basal, green below, shiney velvety green above, broad white line at midrib leaves with the uppermost beiong smaller and blooming in the spring on an erect, terminal, 4 to 5" [10 to 13 cm] long, pubescent, loosely 3 to 15 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate-ovate, reddish brown, pubescent floral bracts.
