Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama often on fruit trees at elevations of 15 to 200 meters as a miniature to just small sized, hot growing epiphyte with compressed, ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped almost completely by 3 to 6 leaf bearing sheaths and carrying coriaceous, articulate, oblong to elliptic, broadly rounded to obtuse apically leaves that blooms in the late spring through fall on a lateral, 1 to several at a time, 2 to 3.2" [5 to 8 cm] long, 1 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence that is much shorter than the leaves and carrying fragrant flowers.
