Found in eastern Brazil at lower coastal locations as a miniature [each growth, but because of the long rhizome can be medium in size] sized, hot growing epiphtye with slightly oblique, bright green, smooth in youth and grooved with age pseudobulbs carrying rigid, more or less spreading, conduplicate and deeply channeled below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on a slightly flexuous, terete, smooth, bright green, mostly racemose, several flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers
