Common Name The Satipo Rodriguezia [Area in Peru]

Found in Junin department of Peru on the eastern slopes of the Andes in wet montane forests at altitudes of 750 to 900 meters as a small sized, cool to warm growing epiphytic species with a long rhizome and well spaced, ovate, strongly laterally compressed, longitudinally rugose and ridged pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 4 to 6, distichous, imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, narrowly oblong, leathery, obliquely bilobed apically, "V" shaped in cross-section towards the base leaf, that blooms in the fall on an axillary, pendant, to 3" [to 7.5 cm] long, racemose, few to several [4 to 12] flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers.
