Common Name Dusen's Sacoila [Swedish Engineer and Orchid Collector in southern Brazil early 1900's]

Found in Sao Paulo and Parana States of Brazil as a medium sized, cool growing terrestrial with 5, basal, ligulate, obtuse to subacute, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, peduncle, strict to substrict, to 20" [50 cm] long, provided with wide, , lower ones foliaceous, upper ones embracing, acuminate, papilose to glandulose, rachis erect, 6.8" [17 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, reddish, lower ones generally longewr than the flowers gradually erect and as long as ther flowers and carrying red flowers.
"This rather singular species is similar to Sacoila lanceolata ( but because of its size it resembles more Sacoila argentina and is characterized from both by the strong contraction of the anterior part of the labellum and the rostellum that is considerably longer." Schlechter 1922
