Found in Cauca department of Colombia in the Pacific lowlands as a small sized, hot growing terrestrial with 6, in a basal rosette, broadly elliptic, obtuse to subacute, narrowing below into the canaliculate, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, stout, glandular in the upper half, peduncle to 10.4" [26 cm] long, provided with about 10, imbricating, acuminate sheathing bracts, rachis to 3.2" [8 cm] long, lax, to 20 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, almost glabrous, longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying externally densely glandular flowers.
Easily separated from all other Colombian species by the erect flowers, straight lateral sepals, prominently constricted lip with a cordate, acuminate epichile with the margins covered by large swollen cells." Szlachetko & Kolanowska 2019 Drawing fide
