Found in Ecuador without locational data as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid with a basal rosette of elliptical, glossy dark green with scattered silver spots on the upper surface, smaller spots near the margins, acuminate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter on an erect, terminal, stiff, densely pubescent, peduncle to 4.8" [12 cm] long, provided with 2 to 3, triangular, acuminate, free sheathing bracts, rachis to 13.6" [34 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with lanceoalte, acuminate densely pubescent, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
