Common Name or Meaning The Shadowy Sarcoglottis

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil as a large sized, cool growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem carrying 3 to 4, fleshy, dark green, paler beneath, broadly elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled, pseudo-petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, terminal, pale green, peduncle 24.5 to 28.5" [60 to 70 cm] long, mostly enveloped by 8 to 10, adpressed, lanceolate, acute sheathing bracts, rachis compact, many flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, lanceolate, somewhat concave, longer than the ovary floral bracts
