Common Name or Meaning The Metallic Sarcoglottis
Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]
Found in Venezuela, Guyana and Brazil in evergreen lowlands, roadsides and lower montane forests at elevations around 100 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrialwith a basal rosette of large, soft, elliptical-oblong to obovate, acute, variegated green with white, deciduous leaves and blooms in the fall in Brazil on an erect, terminal, peduncle 12" [30 cm] long, slender, glandular in the upper part, provided with 4 to 9, tubular, acute, sheathing bracts, rachis to 8" [20 cm] long, several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous ti sparsely glandular, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying, pale green flowers with a whitish lip
