Found in Tanzania in dry upland grasslands at elevations around 2500 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with sub-globose, pea-sized tubers giving rise to an erect, slender stem carrying 2 to 3, sheathing, near the base, 6 to 7 altogether, the middle 2 to 3, ovate, acute, the upper 3 grading to bract-like leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long, 6 to 15 flowered inflorescence
