Found in Espirito Santo and Rio de Janiero states of Brasil in wet cool montane forests as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a stem completely enveloped by tight, imbricating sheaths and carrying a single, narrowly oval to lanceolate, obtuse, narrowed below into the conduplicate, elongate, petiole-like base leaf that blooms in the fall on a basal, pendant, 3" [7.5 cm] long, several flowered, slightly fractiflex inflorescence arising on a newly matured stem and holding the flowers in an apical cluster and each has a pilose ovary and sepals
