Found in Caqueta department of Colombia humid to wet forest at elevations of 200 to 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome and narrowly cylindrical or stipitate, erect, fusiform pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, linear-lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms in the fall on a to .6" [1.5 cm] long, laxly 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts

". Unique in the genus for its peculiar, almost quadrilobate lip with 3 verrucose ridges almost the entire length. This species is characterized by having an elongate, 3 to 4 flowered inflorescence and almost quadrilobate lip with 3 prominent verrucose ridges running from the base of the lip almost to the apex."
