Found in Guyana, Venezuela and northern Brazil at elevations of 850 to 1800 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with terete pseudobulbs enveloped basally by imbricate, tubular sheaths and carrying 2 to 3, linear, acute basally clasping leaves that blooms fall through early spring on a terminal, short, single flowered inflorescence
