Common Name The White Flowered Scaphyglottis

Found from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Venezuela in wet montane forests at elevations of 1000 meters as a slender, medium to large, hot to warm growing epiphyte or terrestrial with superposed, linear, sulcate, obtusely angled, lightly campanulate, elliptic in cross section, stiff, light green stems with aerial roots arising from the base of each stem section carrying 2 articulated sheathing, subopposite, oblong or lanceolate, unequally bilobed, carinate midvein leaves that is conduplicate at the base and blooms on a terminal, single flowered inflorescence occuring in the spring and summer.
